Topic: Gifts from gods

Before you Read Activity

•Send your child on a scavenger hunt to get 5-6 things you use the most around the house.

•Once the items have been collected have a quick discussion on the jobs of all the those items

-what do we use this for.?

•Now discuss with those same items how they could be used to help build our nation.

• How could we use this to do the Most Highs work?

( Examples from items in the picture)

📍A Pan -to cook for the brothers and sisters

📍A screwdriver- to build schools

📍Plates -to feed the congregation

📍Tape - to hang up flyers to push this truth

📍Scissors -to cut & make fringes Etc......

•Explain to your child that although all of these items do different things they all can work together in some way for you.

•Also explain that this is what the Most High wants us to do, use our gifts and strengths and work together to help Establish his kingdom.

📚Reading Time 📖

The Bible makes it clear that we have special gifts and abilities. We can use those gifts to come together and do amazing things.

This lesson will emphasize on the importance of sharing our god given gifts and the importance of using those gifts to work together with our brothers and sisters for God.

1 Corinthians chapter 12

• Read through this chapter and explain scriptures as you go.

• Go through the different gifts and explain

Examples

•gift of Healing (one Example could be doctors)

•divers kinds of tongues ( People who are able to speak many different languages) Etc.

Parts of the Body

It is important for people with different spiritual gifts to work together in the church, just like the different parts work together in our body.

Read 1 Corinthians 12:15-16

Mr. Potato head Activity

Feel free to laminate and add velcro stickers or just cut and paste.

Have your child place the body parts in the correct spot on Mr. potato head.

Next Move the body parts to different spots and ask questions….

Can the eyes smell? What Body part has this job?

Can the nose hear? What Body part has this job?

Can the ears Taste? What Body part has this job?

What’s their gift from God?

1 Corinthians 12:4 -6

There are many different gifts our people can have but they are all working within the same spirit.

•Show your child pictures of Brothers and sisters within your congregation and discuss with your child their Gifts.

For Example:

“Here is a picture of captain _______, He is a very good teacher, he uses his gift to help wake up the 12 tribes of Israel by going out and teaching the people.

“Here is a picture of sister ________, She is an amazing singer, She uses her gift to make righteous music to uplift the people of Israel”

Parent Challenge:

Take a look in the Bible and read about times our people used their gifts.

My favorite example is of Tabitha in Acts 9.

She was known amongst the people for her good works and almsdeeds.

When she died the people were able to show all of the good works that she did such as the coats and garments that she made.

The people called on the prophet of God Peter and he brought her back to life.!

Peter to used his gift of god to heal Tabitha.

You have something special that the Nation of Israel needs… what is it?

What Is a gift that you have and how will you use your gift to help the nation of Israel?

✌🏽Remember if you are teaching young children repetition is key.

✔️Make up your own activities or games to keep this lesson going.

✔️The next time your child uses their gifts for gods work, take pictures and frame them.
